Gift Your Love A Rare Pink Diamond Ring
Diamond is formed under immense pressure when the natural conditions are perfect for its formation. A rare transformation results in formation of this beautiful and dazzling precious stone. Diamonds are generally colorless but a rare category of colored diamonds does exist. The pink diamond is one of the most sought after gemstones from the colored category. Pink diamond is rare and the gift of a pink diamond ring even more so.
A classic choice since yesteryears, pink diamond ring is judged mainly by the four Cs:
Cut – The sparkle of pink diamond in the ring is determined by the way it is cut. One wrong cut and the whole stone lacks the desired luster. Shaped like teardrops, diamonds of such shape resemble a pear. The shape is called pear cut, and this cut suits the pink diamond. The cut is a cross between the Marquise Cut (resembles a boat) and the Round Brilliant Cut. A pink diamond ring usually has a three-prong setting since the diamond has pointed end.
Color – The color of the diamond varies depending on the size. A small one might appear colorful only at certain angles whereas it is important to ensure that a medium or big diamond has the a consistent color throughout.
Clarity – This is as essential as the color. Even slight cloudiness, a crack, a bubble or a dark spot can ruin the color of the diamond.
Carat – Carat implies the size of the diamond. It is a very important factor determining the cost of the pink diamond itself and the pink diamond ring as a whole. But with colored stones the intensity of the color matters more than the size.
All the above factors and the metal in the ring band will decide how much you will need to plomp down for your pink diamond ring. A single pink diamond looks stunning in 14kt or 22kt white gold. Platinum suits a pink diamond ring as well. The stone may also be coupled with sterling silver for giving a sleek look and trimming the cost slightly.
Such an expensive stone is the most desired as a ring, but the huge price tag encourages only a select few to afford a pink diamond ring. An alternative to pink diamond ring is pink sapphire ring. Sapphires are far more affordable than diamonds but a little softer than diamonds, thus a less preferred choice for a rings. A gorgeous pink diamond ring can be had with a small pink diamond as the centre stone and pink sapphire or white diamonds surrounding the pink diamond for added effect. Not only will it look good, it will also create an initial impression of a bigger pink diamond ring.
